Getting back to basics in the family

by sheila carpenter
(Fl, USA)

We will not survive as a race if we don't get back to basics within the family unit. There are too many children being born into situations controlled by children who have no idea how to raise children. These skills were not passed down by their own Parents this includes common sense and self worth.

We Baby Boomers are to blame for this scenario, we gave and gave and gave to our own children not allowing them to stand on their own feet, thereby sparing the rod and spoiling the child. Disipline is essential to teach the young values, respect for others and creates a stronger moral code.

So many Parents have been forced to raise their children alone or within a family unit comprised of several generations usually without a man as the figure head. It is to easy to "run the system" having baby after baby knowing that the State will take care of these offsprings, they in turn have no direction, no dream, no chance of getting off the welfare roundabout. Once grown, these young people repeat the cycle - it has to stop. We need to bring back love, we need to teach our young right from wrong - In Nature, all animals have laws to abide by - we are just the same. The worm must turn

back to basics in the family

That's why I can not wait to get on the farm. Sorry, that's what I think life is all about. With all the concrete or development, so we call it, we are quickly running out of room. Discipline, I hope we can learn a better means of discipline than beating. Well, I hope I can. I had my fair share and would love to try the other way...art
