Are there any spirits poorer than mine? Yes, there are and they do not have your best interest at heart. Should you heed their call?
We are called to be good stewards considering how to properly used and maintain our gifts we use to serve ourselves and others - keep them in proper perspective. We are called to develop our spirituality, to be a grateful and humble people, in that we may get along.
Poor in Spirit means preventive maintenance, acknowledging a Power Greater than yourself and being submissive, with a purpose to do good things. What does it prosper you to be bad or evil?
Being poor in spirit is directly related to your faith. The more you know you need to know, the better you are in guarding against the seven deadly sins. When you make swift progress, is it more by wind or by the sail? If it were not for the wind, what does it matter about your sail?
Fear is a good thing because it makes you cautious. Before crossing the street you look every way to make sure no autos are coming. You know the dangers, in order that you may safely cross.
Is it the same with being Poor in Spirit. It causes you to be cautious, to look at more than one angle and think before you leap. You know you need help. You will not run around thinking you know everything, like me.
So, it is a good thing I read this. Instead of thinking I know everything because I can the Bible quote, just maybe I will check myself a bit closer.
