Snow Ice Cream
by B&SD
snow ice cream, naturally good!!!
Ahh, memories. How many of you have memories of mom setting out a big bowl at the first sight of a snowflake. You knew you were soon in for a treat! A big bowl of snow meant Snow Ice Cream!!
All the kids are grown and gone, in their own homes. I made a big bowl of snow ice cream tonight but no one is here to share it with. It is as good as I remember when I made it for the kids 30 years ago. I wonder if they remember.
SNOW ICE CREAM
Ingredients
1 gallon snow
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups milk
Directions
1.When it starts to snow, place a large, clean bowl outside to collect the flakes. When full, stir in sugar and vanilla to taste, then stir in just enough milk for the desired consistency. Serve at once.
Snow ice cream is not about creamy gourmet ice cream. It's about sharing a special time together. It's about gathering snow together in between making snow angels, having snow ball fights, celebrating winter and making memories. Today allowed me a walk down memory lane. Thank you.
