If you have a TV get it out of the bedroom. If you have an animal who sleeps with you get it out of the bedroom, there are studies that have proven Animals moving around the bed keep their owners from getting a good nights rest.
Lavender herb or essential oil is relaxing and calming. place a sachet or a drop of lavender on a tissue and put under your pillow.
It is best not to drink caffine, that means sweet tea, colas, and coffee past 2PM. Instead a cup of chammomile tea or catnip tea either will lull you off to dreamtime.
Take a hot bath or shower just before bedtime, it cleanses your energy as well as your body allowing rest and relaxation.
count sheep believe it or not helps to focus your mind of rambling thoughts if your mind wanders just go back to counting sheep.
