When two people marry:

She is hoping he will change and he doesn't.
He is hoping she won't change and she does.

Seriously, everyone wants to feel loved. To be loved is to feel complete. Humans were not meant to be alone. Marriage gives a sense of security that nothing else does. You are no longer alone!

No matter how independant, self supporting, self assured a woman is, it doesn't change the fact that we have a need to feel protected, be able to lean on a strong shoulder, be held by those strong arms and have a friend for life that loves you unconditionally. To find your soulmate is the most wonderful thing. To know they will be there, at your side, no matter what. And if you connect intimately? What else could you want?

Don't get me wrong. I never said it was easy. Marriage is very hard work and too often than not we are too lazy to work that hard. Getting a divorce is too easy. The breakdown of the marital institution is from withholding love, unforgiving, impatient, no trust, no respect and no communication, being closed minded and judgemental. Everyone thinks the # 1 thing is money, but with all the other things in your favor, you can get past the money part. To be evenly yoked with someone, to work together, laugh together, cry together, make love together is heavenly. If we can go into a marriage with eyes wide open, be forgiving of all things, knowing there will be some speed bumps along the way, we can succeed. Even when there are harsh words spoken, never think in terms of things being over. If you didn't care, you wouldn't bother! Always think about making up after the dust settles. LOL
And above all, don't treat the disagreement like the "Miranda Rights'....."Everything you say, can and will be used against you in MY court of law forever more!" Forgive, forget, and move on! Learn from your mistakes!!!

Love is when you care more about someone else, than you do yourself, always putting their needs, their feelings first. When you feel this way, you want to hold on with everything you got! What better way than to be married!!
