Huey's famous guitar, that's how I remember him!
Music legend Huey Long was the last living member of the Original "Ink Spots". The Ink Spots was a vocal group in the 1930s and 1940s that helped define the musical genre that led to rhythm and blues, rock and roll...
They were also one of the first successful cross-over groups appealing to white listeners. A famous vocalist and musician, Huey died at a ripe old age of 105, in 2009.
Today, in 2013 I met Mrs. Nancy Tankelson who worked very close with Mr. Long in his last days. That's how I learned about one of her most recent projects, which is a screen play titled: Moments with Huey: Reflections on 100 Years of life and Jazz, which is being produced by Nancy.
Nancy, a family person and beautiful spirited Jewish girl is a legend in her own right. It was my pleasure to have had this rare opportunity and here's wishing her all the success in this endeavor and thank you so much for sharing.
You made my day! As one of the Ink Spots favorite songs goes, "We'll meet again, Don't know where , don't know when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day...."
