Are parents ever Right?

hOW many parents think kids are? How many kids think parents are? Why aren't parents ever right?

Life is difficult for parents who are managing so many different activities and responsibilities. Then, there’s tremendous pressure to keep up with a system designed to fail,  and on top of all that, kids have their own minds.

Things change so fast. I don’t even think the way we were taught to add, subtract… is the same way as yesterday? Was that right or wrong? Are we really finding all these better ways or are we wrong? Why fix what’s not broken?

Today, we have well more schools and people attending than yesterday, but look at the results.

As a kid, if you asked me what love was I wouldn’t have had a clue. Probably would have said something like it’s all the things your parents do for you or God is love. Today,, we have well more churches and people who attend, but look at the results. Do children ever grow up? Parents are never right, but the love for a parent overrules all. Is love something you get or something you give? How do you get love without giving it? Does you love hinge on what others think or do? What about the love and respect for self? Have you forgiven your parents, well, who else is responsible for all these bad children today? What about all the parents who claim they’re doing in right.

Today, parents have well more resources available to assist them, but look at the results. Our relationships are strained more than ever.

Is it the parents who claim to be doing it right or is it someone else who is saying that about them?

So as a parent it’s not about a right or wrong but who can best perform all these ever changing duties, the performance of which depends on ones ability to listen and obey their inner voice. All you have to do is love and respect yourself and it will spread to others. Forgive yourself.
