Ambassadors

Calling all Ambassadors

As a child, I have always wanted to be an ambassador to a foreign country. As an adult it seems that will never happen, for me, in a governmental role. What is an ambassador? What do they do? A diplomatic official of the highest rank sent by a government to represent it on a temporary mission, as for negotiating.

However, I have learned my dream to be an ambassador can still be realized as a human being, a good citizen of the highest rank.

I really do not know much about Christianity and am not 100% convinced that it is for everyone, but as a Christian, I was raised. Therefore, I want to be the best Christian I can be.

I can stay in communication with my king, understand his will and carry it out. I also know I do not belong here permanently, so I can live ready for recall at a moments notice.

I can, to the best of my ability learn to love and share love with every person, irregardless of religious affiliation. I know that is what every person needs and wants. That is what I want. I know that bar the double standard, Christianity is not a bad religion to practice. That in being a good and faithful Ambassador discourages corruption while encouraging good deeds.

So knowing we are not our own and in respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us to be who and where we are today, my challenge and my encouragement to my fellow Christians is to let us be good and faithful Ambassadors for Christianity. Let us be good stewards and stewardesses for the world to see. And in being good Ambassadors we have nothing to lose, but stand much to gain.
