1. to swallow or eat up hungrily, voraciously, or ravenously. 2. to consume destructively, recklessly, or wantonly: Fire devoured the old museum.

3. To engulf or swallow up.

4. to take in greedily with the senses or intellect: to devour the works of Freud.

5. to absorb or engross wholly: a mind devoured by fears.

As you stand by, people are being devoured. Money, corruption, health care, predatory lending. The traps you set for outhers, now trap you. However, instead of changing, you become even more clever. Because you are known for cleverness and where ever you go, you are closly followed by confusion and chaos, death, disease and destruction. Just look around you. The drug industry is running rampant. You can not trust anybody. You are fighting over who gets to carry a gun. You will not last long, on your own. Remember, you are a world leader and you know how you got there, but by now, you do not even know where to lead yourself and soon you will be devoured.

All you have created, a life so abundant for yourself, a life where you were the center point, will come tumbling down, just like Russia and many others. Your guts and self-centerness will cause you to pay a high price.

That is just how I see it. First, you and then your children. Children can not survive without the help of parents and if you do not get them to change, back on the proper track...
