Interstitial Cystitis Updated

Regarding your website on interstitial cystitis, I have to tell you that you are wrong about what interstitial cystitis is.

You refer to it as "the leaking of urine at a chronic level." This could not be more incorrect. IC has nothing to do with incontinence.

IC is chronic inflammation of the epithelial tissue of the bladder wall, causing one to feel like they have to urinate because it is painful. There may be some people with IC that also have incontinence, but the two are not one and the same.

Also, the advice you give to exercise pelvic floor muscles can be very harmful to an IC patient (such as myself) Pelvic floor exercises tend to be for those with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, which is NOT the same as IC. Again, just like incontinence, someone with IC can have pelvic floor dysfunction as well, but again, it is not the same thing.

The exercises you are advising for IC sufferers can cause even more pain and inflammation. Please remove this from your website. You could be harming people who think you know what you are talking about.

Also, if you are going to list exercises, or any treatment for any condition, you absolutely must put a disclaimer saying that you are not a medical expert and advise people to talk to a doctor before doing an exercise that you are recommending.

Also, there is no known cure for interstitial cystitis, regardless of what website scammers may say.

So please remove the "Say Goodbye to Interstitial Cystitis" from the bottom of your page.

One of the most informative websites on the internet for IC is Interstitial Cystitis Network
