Rutabaga Recipe

1 large Rutabaga

2 medium Onions

Butter, Sugar, Salt, Black pepper and herbs to your liking.

Peeled and cubed Rutabaga into bit size pieces. Cut onions in half, along the grain, then slice halves along the grain.

In a nice heavy boiler, add rutabagas, onions and butter. Cover with water. Add other seasonings and bring to a boil, then cut heat to simmer until rutabaga pieces are tender. Test by porking with a fork until a cube breaks.

I love buttery, sweet rutabagas with lots of onions, so I make my water sweet and buttery, with lots of onions and black pepper.

Serve hot and enjoy.
