Why would anyone want to experience depression? Why would you set yourself up for failure? Most people do not want to work, much less do the research. We often spend more time and effort to avoid work than required to get the job done and it comes right back to bite us in the butt. Why would you work a job that you hate? So why do we do that?

Depression affects both men and women, but more women are diagnosed every year. And you hear many women complaining about what their family members are going through. They act as if they are surprised when depression hits home, especially with daughters? They get angry and upset and end up walking away from each other.

Were you properly prepared, if there can be a such thing? If you have daughters would not this be important information to know? Some common reasons are hormones, stress, other illnesses and more.

Spotting signs of depression, where to go for help and ways to ease symptoms. Everyone occasionally feels blue or sad, but these feelings are usually fleeting and pass within a couple of days. But a depressive disorder interferes with daily life and normal functioning. It causes pain for everyone involved. Many just throw their hands in the air and give up? I will not come get you out jail again? I cannot give you any more money? If you can spot the signs, you will know where to go for help and practice ways to ease the symptoms.

Depression is a common but serious illness, and those who have it need help. The problem there is most, who can give help are not trained nor prepared to give that much needed help. Sad but true. We can dish it out, but we cannot take it?

Here’s more information you need to know: The majority – even those with the most severe cases – can get better. The question is how do you help them or do you just let them find help on their own? Is that suicidal or what? You hate to see anyone abused or abuse themselves? Think on the number of annual suicides! How many could you have save, had you read something like this first?

Signs You or love ones may be Depressed People with depressive illnesses don’t all have the same signs. What’s more, the severity and frequency of the symptoms, and how long they last, will vary depending on the individual and their particular illness.

    They include:
  • Persistent sad, anxious or “empty” feelings

  • Feelings of hopelessness and/or pessimism

  • Irritability, restlessness or anxiety

  • Feelings of guilt, worthlessness and/or helplessness

  • Loss of interest in activities or hobbies that once were pleasurable, including sex

  • Fatigue and decreased energy

  • Difficulty concentrating, remembering details and making decisions

  • Insomnia, waking up during the night, or excessive sleeping. What about snoring?

  • Overeating or loss of appetite

  • Thoughts of suicide or suicide attempts. It sad when it goes undetected and have gotten to this stage!

    Persistent aches or pains, headaches, cramps or digestive problems that don’t get better even with treatment. Most folks just blow it off as, “she is always sick”.

    As widespread as depression is, many will be lost because most people do not know how to detect the signs. They put it on drugs and alcohol, but the word depression, the really culprit the reason for, will never be mentioned. Most of these signs describe me, so I am very careful with myself.

Research indicates that environmental factors also increase the risk for developing depression, especially the way things are going today. So many lies, so you really have to on your toes in order to help save lives.
