Greed

Knowing when enough is enough?

No man is above greed, yet do not be greedy for the things of this world.

Boy, today that seems almost impossible! First, our system is built upon greed. Greed is one side of human nature targeted for marketing and advertising purposes. So it is increasingly harder to know the difference between lie and truth.

The rich get richer, life giving utilities just get higher and higher. Churches are becoming places of abundant wealth. We frown on those without, while glorifying those who have. The more things you have, it seems the more friends you have. Our success is appearance/monetarily driven. Debt? Politics? As a matter of fact, our society encourages greed. Things change so fast, they are hardly worth buying. So, all of this makes it quite confusing to know when enough is enough?

When you think about greed, it does not appear to be all that serious, therefore, it is okay to be a little greedy. One man says, greed is neither good nor bad. You might want to think again, because greed is a deadly sin. Greed hinders love and trust. But greed leads to corruption. Greed is idolatry. It is not knowing when enough is enough!

Greedy, a term indicating something is off balance, too much on one side and not enough on the other. Having too much of anything can be deadly and even more costly as having too little.

How do I know when enough is enough? When you have to cheat, lie or steal. Then, you know you have gone well over your limits. You must know you are digging a deeper hole for yourself and those around you. You are becoming even more corrupt. It is not so much what we do as it is how.

Good is an good understanding of supply and demand, for ones self, get to know yourself. Give away and become richer or hold on too tightly and lose it all. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities ... but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.

Never ever buy as a result of unsolicited phone calls...

Practice discipline in all things.
